Day Tour - A Journey to the Sacred Mountain of Phnom Kulen
We will start at 08:00 am. The ride from Siem Reap to Kulen Mountain top takes about 60 minutes.
Our adventure begins with a scenic drive towards Phnom Koulen, a massif holding immense cultural and religious significance. As we ascend the mountain, learn about its role in shaping Cambodia's history. Witness the spot where King Jayavarman II declared himself a God-King in 802 AD, marking the birth of the Khmer Empire.
Treasures of Phnom Koulen:
- Reclining Buddha: Upon arrival, pay your respects at the awe-inspiring reclining Buddha statue, a serene figure radiating tranquility.
- River of a Thousand Lingas: Explore the mystical Kbal Spean, also known as the "River of a Thousand Lingas." Carved into the riverbed are hundreds of Lingas, representing the Hindu god Shiva. Witness the intricate carvings and immerse yourself in the sacred atmosphere.
Witnessing the Grand Cascade: Following our exploration of the cultural sites, prepare to be mesmerized by the cascading beauty of Kulen Waterfall, Cambodia's largest. The cool waters cascading down several tiers create a refreshing haven. Take time to relax by the waterfall, enjoy a refreshing swim, and capture stunning photos of this natural wonder.
A Moment of Serenity: After a day filled with cultural immersion and natural beauty, enjoy a relaxing time by the waterfall. Soak in the sounds of cascading water, savor a delicious picnic lunch (not included) amidst the serene surroundings, and cherish the memories you're creating.
Returning to Siem Reap: In the late afternoon, we'll begin our descent from the mountain and return to Siem Reap, carrying with you a deeper understanding of Cambodia's rich heritage and the breathtaking beauty of Phnom Koulen.

- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking on uneven terrain.
- Modest attire is recommended for visiting religious sites (knees and shoulders covered).
- Bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen if you plan to swim in the waterfall.
