Day Tour - A Hike Through History and Nature
We will start at 08:00 am. The ride from Siem Reap to Kulen Mountain top takes about 60 minutes.
Following our invigorating drive, we'll arrive at the foothills of Kulen Mountain. After equipping ourselves with essentials and listening to a safety briefing from our experienced guide, we'll embark on our hike. The trail offers a mix of challenging climbs and gentle inclines, suitable for those with a moderate level of fitness.
Unveiling Ancient Secrets: As we ascend, keep an eye out for hidden treasures. We might encounter:
- A Sacred Sanctuary: Preah Ang Thom Pagoda: Following our refreshing break, we'll continue our journey to the revered Preah Ang Thom Pagoda. This sacred site, perched atop the mountain, houses a large reclining Buddha statue, a symbol of peace and tranquility. Learn about the pagoda's significance in Cambodian culture and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
- Elephant statues: These majestic figures, symbols of Hinduism, stand sentinel at the foot of the mountain.
- Ruined settlements: Discover remnants of ancient Khmer structures, offering a glimpse into the lives of those who inhabited this region centuries ago.
- The Refreshing Reward: Kulen Waterfall: After a rewarding hike, we'll arrive at the breathtaking Kulen Waterfall, the largest waterfall in Cambodia. Feel the cool spray on your face as the cascading water plunges into a natural pool below. Take a refreshing dip (swimwear recommended) or simply relax on the surrounding rocks and soak in the beauty of this natural wonder.
After exploring the pagoda, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch (not included) at a local restaurant, where you can savor Cambodian cuisine and replenish your energy.
Returning to Siem Reap: Following a full day of adventure, we'll descend the mountain and return to Siem Reap, carrying unforgettable memories of your conquest of Kulen Mountain.
Important Notes:
- Wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip.
- Bring a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
- A moderate level of fitness is recommended for the hike.
- Be respectful of the sacred sites and dress modestly (knees and shoulders covered) when visiting temples.
- Bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen if you plan to swim in the waterfall.
