Urumqi Arrival
Welcome to
Urumqi
, the capital of the
Xinjiang
Uyghur Autonomous Region and the farthest major city from any ocean in the world. Known as a traveler’s paradise, it boasts stunning natural scenery, rich cultural heritage, and unique local traditions. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your leisure.

Visit Picturesque Heavenly Lake (120kms) and Urumqi City Tour
We will drive 1.5 hours to entrance of the
Heavenly Lake
at about 08:30, following is the 40-minute shuttle bus twisting through the picturesque Tianshan mountains to the edge of the Lake. You can either Trek around the lake, enjoy the boating cruise, or even take the cable car to explore the Maya Mountain for the incredible view of Bogoda Peak.
Lunch will be served in a traditional Kazakh yur
Drive to Turpan, Explore the Ancient Tuyoq Village and Bezeklik Grottoes (200kms)
After breakfast, we’ll begin our exciting day with a scenic drive to
Tuyoq Village
, an ancient oasis settlement nestled in the Taklamakan Desert. Located 70 km east of Turpan, this lush valley cuts into the
Flaming Mountains
and is renowned for its sweet seedless grapes and nearby ancient Buddhist meditation caves, some of which still contain well-preserved frescoes.
Next, we’ll visit the

Today, you’ll have a full day to explore this fertile oasis. Begin with a visit to the

irrigation system, an ancient engineering marvel responsible for producing China’s finest melons and grapes. Next, explore the

, a historic symbol of cultural exchange between diverse ethnic and religious groups.
