Five caves carved into a 160m rock face contain 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of kings, and exquisite ceiling frescoes covering 2,100 sq meters โ€” a breathtaking gallery of Buddhist art spanning 2,000 years. The largest cave (Maharaja Vihara) features a 14m-long reclining Buddha

  • Spice Garden Visit, Matale โ€” Sri Lanka has been famous for spices since ancient times when Arab traders called it “Serendib.” Visit an organic spice garden to see cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, and cloves growing. Learn about Ayurvedic medicine and the traditional uses of each spice
