A once-in-a-lifetime journey through the heart of China’s most culturally rich and geographically stunning region. Immerse yourself in ancient Silk Road charm, explore dramatic desert landscapes, and connect with Uyghur traditions that have thrived for centuries.

Day 1: Arrival in Urumqi – Gateway to Xinjiang

Upon arrival at Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our driver and transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon acclimating to the city — a vibrant blend of Han, Uyghur, and Central Asian influences.

Free time ideas

Stroll through Erdaoqiao Market, one of the largest bazaars in China, filled with spices, handwoven carpets, and traditional musical instruments.

Overnight: Ürümqi (4-star hotel included)

Day 2: Urumqi Heavenly Lake Excursion, fly to Kashgar

Full-day excursion to Tianshan Tianchi (Heavenly Lake), a crystal-clear alpine lake at 1,980 meters surrounded by spruce forests and snow-capped peaks. Take a boat ride (optional at extra cost) or hike along scenic trails offering panoramic views.

After the excursion, take evening flight to Kashgar, one of the oldest cities in China and a legendary crossroads of cultures. Upon arrival, begin exploring its living history.

Evening free to explore the illuminated Old Town.

Day 3: Kashgar: Heart of the Silk Road

Walk through the maze-like alleys of the Kashgar Sunday Bazaar (one of Asia’s largest weekly markets).

Visit the iconic Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in China, dating back to 1442.

Explore the historic Kashgar Old Town, where mud-brick homes and narrow lanes echo centuries of trade and tradition.

Enjoy an authentic Uyghur welcome dinner featuring lamb kebabs (kawap) and hand-pulled noodles. Attend a traditional Uyghur Music & Dance Performance.

Day 4: Tashkurgan Day Trip – The Pamir Plateau

Journey along the breathtaking Karakoram Highway toward the high-altitude town of Tashkurgan, home to the Tajik minority.

Pass by Khunjerab Pass (view from Chinese side), the highest border crossing in the world.

Visit Tashkurgan Ancient Castle with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks.

See Victoria Peak and Emperor Lake (Karakul Lake), a stunning alpine lake reflecting Muztagh Ata (7,546m).

Interact with local Tajik families and learn about their unique customs.

Return to Kashgar in the evening.

Day 5: Fly to Turpan – Land of Fire & Grapes

This morning, fly to Turpan, one of the lowest and hottest places in China.

Stop at the ruins of Jiaohe Ancient City, a 2,000-year-old earthen fortress carved into a plateau.

Learn how the Karez Irrigation System brought life to the desert over centuries.

Visit Ashiklik Grape Valley, shaded by trellises heavy with sweet fruit.
