Tour Overview
Embark on a 9-day, 8-night private tour that takes you through the natural wonders of Zhangjiajie and Guilin, and the historical charm of Fenghuang Ancient Town. Explore unique landscapes, ancient architecture, and experience diverse cultures. This tour includes accommodation, transfers, guides, and admission fees for an unforgettable adventure.
Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie
Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie, your local guide and driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Wulingyuan. After checking in, you can explore the area around the hotel, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the national park. Your guide can offer suggestions on local dining and attractions.
Day 2: Zhangjiajie (Zhangjiajie National Forest Park – Tianzi Mountain)
After breakfast, visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Take a shuttle bus to the Bailong Elevator and ascend to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Admire the “garden in heaven” scenery and the inspiration for the “Avatar” floating mountains. Then, take a shuttle bus to Tianzi Mountain for a panoramic view of the granite peaks and valleys.
Have lunch at a local restaurant or snack stall. Descend the mountain by cable car and take a shuttle bus to the Ten – mile Natural Gallery. Enjoy the karst landscape from a small train. Return to the hotel in the evening. You may also consider watching the Tianmen Fox Fairy show.
Day 3: Zhangjiajie (Baofeng Lake – Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon)
After breakfast, head to Baofeng Lake and take a boat ride on the lake. Enjoy the mountain scenery and waterfalls. Then, drive to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Walk on the Glass Bridge, descend through One Line Sky, and reach Shenquan Lake. You may take a boat on the lake to enjoy the scenery. Return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 4: Zhangjiajie (Yellow Dragon Cave – Tianmen Mountain)
After breakfast, check out of the Wulingyuan hotel and visit Yellow Dragon Cave. Take a boat ride through the cave to explore its unique formations. Then, scale Tianmen Mountain. Take the world’s longest cable car, walk on the glass Sky Walk, and visit Tianmen Cave. Return to Zhangjiajie city and check into your hotel.
Day 5: Zhangjiajie – Fenghuang Ancient Town
Check out of the Zhangjiajie hotel and drive to Fenghuang Ancient Town. Visit the former residence of Shen Congwen, the Tower of East Gate, and other historical sites. Explore the stilt houses along the Tuojiang River, take a boat ride, and enjoy the local Miao architecture. Roam the ancient lanes and shops in the evening.
Day 6: Fenghuang Ancient Town – Guilin
Check out of the Fenghuang Ancient Town hotel and drive to Tongren Airport. Take a flight to Guilin. Upon arrival in Guilin, your guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. You can explore the area around the hotel or relax in the hotel.
Day 7: Guilin – Longsheng – Guilin
After breakfast, visit the Reed Flute Cave. Walk through the cave and admire the stalactite formations. Then, drive to the Longji Rice Terraces in Longsheng. Climb the terraces to enjoy the view and learn about the Zhuang and Yao ethnic cultures. Return to the Guilin hotel in the evening.
Day 8: Guilin – Yangshuo
Check out of the Guilin hotel and take a half-day Li River cruise from Mopanshan Pier. Enjoy the karst landscape along the river. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, explore West Street and try local food like beer fish.
Day 9: Yangshuo – Depart Guilin
After breakfast and checking out of the Yangshuo hotel, your guide will transfer you to the Guilin train station or airport for your next destination. If you need further travel arrangements in China, our travel consultants can assist you.
