Zhangjiajie's landscape is so surreal it inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains in James Cameron's Avatar. Thousands of quartz-sandstone pillars rise from mist-filled valleys, connected by glass bridges and cliff-hanging walkways.

This 4-day adventure covers all three epic areas: the National Forest Park, the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, and Tianmen Mountain with its Heaven's Gate.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival & Tianmen Mountain. Airport pickup. Ascend Tianmen Mountain via the world's longest cable car (7.5km). Walk the cliff-hanging glass skywalk. Visit Heaven's Gate — natural rock arch. Descend via the 99-Bend Road. Check into Wulingyuan hotel.

Day 2:

Avatar Mountains. Enter National Forest Park. Ride the Bailong Elevator — 326m up a cliff in 2 minutes! Explore Yuanjiajie (Avatar Hallelujah Mountains, First Bridge Under Heaven). Afternoon: Tianzi Mountain for the "sea of clouds" panorama. Sunset by cable car.

Day 3:

Glass Bridge & Grand Canyon. Morning: cross the Glass Bridge — 430m long, 300m above the canyon. Descend into Grand Canyon — waterfalls, emerald pools, narrow gorges. Afternoon: rest (your legs need it!).

Day 4:

Golden Whip Stream & Departure. Morning: walk Golden Whip Stream — 5.7km peaceful valley trail surrounded by pillars. Spot wild monkeys! Afternoon transfer to airport/train.
