Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Transfer from Tashkent International Airport to your hotel (Inspira-S or similar). Hotel check-in from approximately 3:00 PM. Rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Tashkent Exploration

Morning at leisure. Afternoon city tour: Kukeldash Madrasah, Navoi Monument, Amir Timur Monument, and traditional adobe houses. Welcome dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 3: Amirsoy Mountain Resort & Board the Orient Express

Travel through narrow valleys of the Chimgan Mountains to Amirsoy Mountain Resort. Cable car ride with breathtaking panoramic views. Lunch followed by photo stops at Charvak Reservoir. Return to Tashkent to board the Orient Silk Road Express. Welcome drinks and briefing lecture aboard the train.

Day 4: Khiva — The Living Museum City

Explore the Khiva oasis and its perfectly preserved Ichan-Kala fortress — a medieval architectural ensemble of palaces, mosques, minarets, mausoleums, and madrasahs. Visit the iconic Kalta-Minor Minaret with its distinctive blue-tiled unfinished tower. Return to the train.

Day 5-6: Bukhara — 2,500 Years of History

Arrive in Bukhara, the “Second Mecca” rising from the Kyzylkum Desert. Visit the towering 50m Kalyan Minaret, Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, and Nasreddin Hodja monument. Enjoy a folk performance with traditional music, dance, and costume show in a madrasah courtyard. Continue to Miri-Arab Madrasah, the exquisite Samanid Mausoleum (Central Asia’s most precious architectural landmark), and the formidable Ark Fortress — a city-within-a-city that served as Bukhara’s seat of government.

Day 7: Shakhrisabz — Birthplace of Tamerlane

Cross the mountains aboard the overnight train. Visit Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Amir Timur (Tamerlane). Explore the ruins of the magnificent Ak-Saray Palace. Evening departure toward Dushanbe.

Day 8: Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Morning arrival in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. City tour includes Rudaki Park, the National Library, and other landmarks. Return to the train in the afternoon for the journey to Samarkand.

Day 9-10: Samarkand — Crossroads of Cultures

Two full days in the legendary city of Samarkand. Visit Shahi-Zinda Necropolis (“The Living King”), Afrasiab archaeological site and museum, and the magnificent Registan Square — Central Asia’s most spectacular architectural ensemble of three grand madrasahs. Continue to a silk carpet factory, a traditional mulberry paper workshop, Ulugh Beg Observatory, Bibi Hanim Mosque ruins, and Gur-Emir Mausoleum — the final resting place of Tamerlane.

2 nights at Grand Samarkand Superior Hotel (or similar)

Day 11: Scenic Train Day — Crossing the Steppe

A full day aboard the Orient Silk Road Express, traveling over 1,000km through the vast Central Asian landscape from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan. Enjoy relaxation, information lectures, and the ever-changing scenery from your window.

Day 12: Bishkek & Ala-Archa National Park, Kyrgyzstan

Arrive in Bishkek, one of the world’s greenest capital cities (approximately 100 sq meters of green space per resident). City tour followed by an excursion to Ala-Archa National Park in the Tien Shan mountains, with stunning coniferous forests and natural scenery.

Day 13: Lake Issyk-Kul & Journey to Almaty

Train journey to the magnificent Issyk-Kul Lake — the world’s second-largest alpine lake. Visit a nomadic culture center to learn about traditional Kyrgyz life. Enjoy a lakeside walk or swim, followed by a boat cruise on Issyk-Kul. Continue by train toward Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Day 14: Almaty, Kazakhstan

City tour of Almaty: Zenkov Cathedral (the famous wooden Russian Orthodox cathedral), Wedding Palace, Circus, and Central Mosque. Farewell dinner at a traditional yurt restaurant.

Overnight at Rahat Palace Hotel (or similar)

Day 15: Departure from Almaty

Transfer to Almaty International Airport. Breakfast included. End of your epic Silk Road train journey.
