Day 1: Arrive Boracay โ World’s Best Island
- Arrive at Caticlan Airport, short boat transfer to Boracay Island. Check into your beachfront accommodation
- White Beach โ 4km of legendary powdery white sand, consistently voted one of the world’s best beaches. The sand is so fine it squeaks underfoot (the squeak comes from perfectly rounded quartz and coral particles). The water is shallow and calm โ walk 50m out and it’s still only waist-deep
- Afternoon: Parasailing over Bulabog Beach (the windsurfing side of the island) for a bird’s-eye view of Boracay’s distinctive dog-bone shape, or helmet diving โ walk on the seafloor (3-5m depth) wearing a weighted helmet that maintains an air pocket around your head. No diving certification needed
- Sunset at White Beach: The sky explodes in orange, pink, and purple as the paraws (traditional outrigger sailboats) drift across the horizon. A cold San Miguel beer, your feet in the sand, and one of the world’s great sunsets
- Dinner at D’Mall: Filipino dishes at a beachfront restaurant. Try crispy pata (deep-fried pork knuckle) and sinigang (sour tamarind soup)
Overnight in Boracay.
Day 2: Boracay Island Hopping & Water Adventures
- Island Hopping Tour โ Visit Puka Beach (named after the puka shells that wash ashore โ coarser sand than White Beach but far fewer people), Crocodile Island (named for its shape, excellent snorkeling with sea snakes and reef fish), Crystal Cove Island (caves you can explore, with natural “windows” framing the turquoise sea)
- Cliff Jumping at Ariel’s Point โ A day trip to a nearby island with platforms at 3m, 5m, 8m, and 15m heights. Unlimited jumping, paddleboarding, kayaking, and a barbecue lunch included. The 15m jump is genuinely scary โ but the adrenaline is addictive
- Afternoon: Paddleboarding at Bulabog Beach in the afternoon wind, or ATV ride to Mt. Luho viewpoint (the highest point on Boracay at 100m) for a 360ยฐ panorama of the entire island
- Evening: Fire dance show on White Beach โ local performers twirling flaming poi and staffs in mesmerizing patterns against the dark sea. This has become a Boracay tradition
Overnight in Boracay.
Day 3: Boracay to Cebu โ Queen City of the South
- Morning: Last swim at White Beach. Transfer to Caticlan Airport, flight to Cebu City (1 hour)
- Magellan’s Cross โ The cross planted by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, marking the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines. Housed in a small chapel next to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niรฑo. Whether the original cross is inside the tindalo wood casing is debated โ but the historical significance is undeniable
- Basilica Minore del Santo Niรฑo โ The oldest Roman Catholic church in the Philippines (founded 1565). Houses the Santo Niรฑo de Cebรบ, a statue of the Child Jesus given by Magellan to Queen Juana in 1521. The statue miraculously survived a fire that destroyed the church in 1565. The museum contains centuries of religious artifacts and vestments
- Fort San Pedro โ The oldest triangular bastion fort in the Philippines (built 1565 under Miguel Lรณpez de Legazpi). Walk the ramparts, visit the small museum, and enjoy the garden inside the walls
- Tops Lookout โ Drive up to the highest point in Cebu City for a panoramic night view. The city lights spread below you like a carpet of stars. Cool mountain air, a bar, and one of the best views in the Visayas
Overnight in Cebu.
Day 4: Cebu โ Whale Sharks, Waterfalls & Sardine Run
- Early morning (4am departure) drive to Oslob (3 hours south of Cebu City)
- Whale Shark Interaction (Butanding) โ One of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters on Earth. At Oslob, whale sharks (the world’s largest fish, up to 12m long) congregate in shallow water (5-15m) to feed on krill provided by local fishermen. You can snorkel alongside these gentle giants โ their spotted backs, their enormous mouths (1.5m wide) filter-feeding, their surprisingly graceful movements. Note: This is a managed interaction โ follow all guidelines (no touching, 4m distance, no sunscreen before entering water). The experience supports the local community who’ve shifted from fishing to conservation-based tourism.
- Tumalog Falls โ A curtain waterfall where water cascades down a moss-covered rock face like a delicate white veil. The mineral deposits have created natural terraced pools. The water is so cold it takes your breath away โ perfect after the whale shark encounter
- Moalboal Sardine Run โ Drive to Moalboal (2 hours). Just 30m from the shore at Panagsama Beach, millions of sardines form a massive bait ball in shallow water. Snorkeling into the sardine run is cinema-level surreal โ the fish part around you like a living curtain, then reform behind you. A wall of silver that shifts and pulses as one organism. Jacks and trevallies hunt the edges of the school. This happens year-round, every single day โ one of nature’s most reliable spectacles
- Pescador Island โ Optional boat trip to this small island for deeper snorkeling: sea turtles, occasional thresher sharks in deeper water, and excellent coral coverage. The underwater cathedral โ a cave opening at about 8m โ is a highlight for divers
- Return to Cebu City in the evening
Overnight in Cebu.
Day 5: Cebu to Bohol โ Chocolate Hills Adventure
- Morning fast ferry from Cebu City to Tagbilaran (Bohol) (2 hours). Transfer to your accommodation in Panglao
- Chocolate Hills Complex (Carmen) โ The 214-step climb to the viewing deck rewards you with the iconic panorama: 1,268 near-identical conical mounds stretching to the horizon. Early morning or late afternoon light creates dramatic shadows across the hills. The geological mystery of their formation adds to the wonder โ coral limestone uplift, weathered by rainwater over millions of years
- Tarsier Sanctuary (Corella) โ The official conservation area where you can observe Philippine tarsiers in their natural forest habitat. These tiny primates (8-16cm body length) have been around for 45 million years. Their rotating heads, enormous eyes, and impossibly long fingers make them look like something from a Miyazaki film. Absolute silence is required โ they’re extremely sensitive to noise
- Loboc River Cruise โ Late afternoon cruise on a floating restaurant with buffet dinner, live music, and the Loboc Children’s Choir (internationally acclaimed, they perform at the riverside stage). The river winds through dense tropical forest โ watch for monitor lizards sunning themselves on overhanging branches
Overnight in Panglao (Bohol).
Day 6: Bohol โ Dolphin Watching & Panglao Island Escape
- Dawn Dolphin Watching โ Depart Pamilacan Island at 5:30am. Bohol’s waters are home to 11 species of cetaceans including spinner dolphins (they leap and spin in the air โ up to 7 rotations!), bottlenose dolphins, and occasionally pilot whales. The sunrise over the Bohol Sea, dolphins riding the bow wave โ this is one of the most magical mornings you’ll ever experience
- Balicasag Island โ After dolphin watching, continue to this small island for world-class snorkeling. The marine sanctuary here has a dramatic drop-off โ from 3m to a 60m wall. Sea turtles (green and hawksbill) are common. The coral diversity is exceptional: brain corals, table corals, sea fans, barrel sponges. Schools of jacks patrol the wall edge
- Virgin Island โ A crescent-shaped sandbar that appears only at low tide. Walk the sandbar as it stretches into the sea, water on both sides. Vendors sell fresh sea urchin (uni) โ crack one open and eat it right there, the sweet briny taste of the ocean
- Afternoon: Bohol Bee Farm โ An organic farm and restaurant on a cliff overlooking the sea. The food is exceptional: organic salads with edible flowers, homemade cassava bread with pesto, and their famous ice cream (try the malunggay โ moringa flavor, bright green and surprisingly delicious). The farm produces honey, cheese, and spreads. Buy some honey and wildflower tea to take home
- Final dinner on Alona Beach: Fresh grilled seafood, tropical cocktails, and the sound of waves โ the perfect Philippine farewell
Overnight in Panglao.
Day 7: Depart Bohol
- Morning at leisure. Souvenir shopping: Bohol’s famous peanut kisses (peanut-shaped meringue cookies), calamay (sticky rice cake in a coconut shell), and ube (purple yam) jam
- Transfer to Tagbilaran Airport (TAG) for departure
Three islands, a thousand memories. Boracay’s sunsets, Cebu’s whale sharks, Bohol’s chocolate hills and tiny tarsiers โ the Visayas is the Philippines at its most vibrant, diverse, and unforgettable.
